AIDA FARZANA BINTI NOR SAFFUAN POLITEKNIK SULTAN SALAHUDDIN ABDUL AZIZ SHAH

Syllio is a bilingual Braille-based assistive learning system developed to support syllable learning and early reading development among visually impaired children. The system combines tactile Braille cards with interactive audio feedback to create a structured multisensory learning experience that encourages active exploration and independent learning. Using RFID technology, each Braille card is detected and linked to corresponding pronunciation audio in Bahasa Malaysia and English phonics. The system is developed using an Arduino Uno, MFRC522 RFID reader, DFPlayer Mini module, Force Sensitive Resistor (FSR), and speaker. Functional testing demonstrated reliable RFID detection, accurate audio playback, stable language selection, and responsive system performance. Overall, Syllio demonstrates the potential of embedded assistive technology in promoting inclusive and accessible Braille literacy development.
