Awareness of paddy disease is a serious concern in agriculture. An interactive application named “MyPadi” was designed to teach users information on prevalent paddy diseases in Malaysia. The tool is grounded in real-life data and agricultural best practices pertaining to the local farm ecosystem. Although other systems for identifying plant diseases do exist, they are geared towards other countries with different crops, climate types, and patterns of diseases. MyPadi is a machine learning program created to help Malaysian paddy farmers diagnose paddy diseases. MyPadi applies an image-classifying technique to analyse images of diseased leaves to make quick and precise predictions as well as to recommend treatments to aid in decision-making. The tool follows a "Scan, Learn, and Act" framework, users scan pictures of infected plants, receive instant diagnosis through AI, and learn about the most effective treatments, all specified for the agricultural situation in Malaysia.
